VNSGU VC Wash Hands Off Thrashingay

Letter: Garba program that leads to clashes between police and members of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has landed officials Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (VNSGU) in trouble.
On Wednesday, VNSGU Vice-Chancellor K Chavda claimed that some university officials proposed to hold a one-day Garba event.
“I was not told by the organizing team that the police have denied permits for the event,” Chavda said added that he was not told that it would be a large-scale function.
Some members of the organizing team have been looking for permission from the police at the UMRA police station.
But the police refused to give permission, quoting government notice that prohibits such events.
The government authorities only allowed Sheri Garbas while banning Garba programs.
Violating notice, the Mega program was organized right in front of Chavda’s official residence.
Chavda went to meet the Commissioner of the City of Ajay Tomar to discuss this issue on Wednesday, two days of drama took place.
Senior city police officials told Chavda that he could not allow Garba events to violate public notifications about government even on the university campus.
Previously the VNSgu registrar Jaydeep Chaudhary had submitted a written letter to the police who demanded legal action against the police who entered the university campus without VC permission.
In a statement to the media on Tuesday, Chavda also claimed that the police should seek permission before entering the campus.
However, because more details come out, the top University boss realizes that they are stored in darkness about many things.
Chavda claims that Garba programs are held for hostel students but initial police investigations reveal that the majority of participants come from outside the campus.
The majority of those who reached the UMRA police station to protest on Monday night was not a resident of VNSGU Hostel or his students.
Questions are also being raised about who pays a high-tech sound system and light decoration for events attended by more than 600 people.
ABVP claims that some police, who are drunk, harass students and try to destroy them under their vehicle in the venue.
But a female police inspector was one of the first teams reached the venue.
Viral videos show that he is with other police peacefully explaining the rules for students.
