Volvo raises the price of certain car models in India starting January 1

New Delhi: Swedish Luxury Carmaker Volvo on Thursday said that it would increase the price of certain models in India ranging from RS 1 Lakh and Rs 3 Lakh from January 1 to offset the increase in input costs.
Under the price revised, Volvo Car India said the XC40 T4 R SUV design variant will be charged more RS 2 lakh at Rs 43.25 lakh, while the XC60 B5 Prasasti SUV will be priced at Rs 63.5 Lakh, an increase of rs 1.6 lakh.
Likewise, the S90 sedan company will be more expensive by Rs 3 Lakh at Rs 64.9 Lakh, while the Top-End XC90 SUV will cost more RS 1 lakh at Rs 90.9 lakh from the beginning of the following month.
Explain the reason for price increases, the company said, “Over the past few years, volatile volatile situation (foreign exchange), global supply chain disorders, due to limiting induction of pandemic and inflation trends, has caused an increase in input costs.” Like the remaining Indian automotive industry, Volvo The car has also been influenced by the increase in input costs, Volvo Car India Director Managing Jyoti Malhotra.
“As much as we want to maintain the price, the situation has left us without another option but to share some input costs increase with customers,” he added.
Malhotra said while there was no change in the price of the S60 luxury sedan and the Hybrid XC90 T8 plug-in, the company was “forced to announce price increases in all our other cars and SUVs starting from one to three lakh.
