Pune: Time seems to still stand up for Ganeshotsav in some Wadas who are still alive in Pune, with residents they are still trying their best to remain loyal to ‘one wada, one ganapati, tradition during the 10-day festival, even though covid- 19 pandemic.
The celebration in Wadas, which is known for its complicated and beautiful carvings on the pillar and doors, displays the bond cover with neighbors.
“Our Mandal has celebrated the festival in our Wada for the past 73 years,” said Manohar Gavali, a resident of Gavali Wada at Nana Peth, where 30-35 families lived.
He said, “Most tenants have shifted.
Some even move to other cities for work and personal reasons.
But many of them make the point to take off for 10 days and visit us during Ganeshotsav and keep the tradition of celebrating the Joint Festival – Life.
