Wait for Tamil Nadu for Longer BH-Series Vehicles

Chennai: It is likely that there will be a delay in the rollout of a series of vehicles Bharat (BH) in Tamil Nadu.
The Ministry of Transportation and Jalan Raya Union Road in September introduced the PAN-India registration series, which aims to help those who are often transferred among countries.
Thus, vehicles listed under the scheme are provided with a special number plate that apply throughout the country.
Anyone who has this vehicle does not need to change the registration number every time he moves to a different state.
Defense personnel, union employees and state governments, public sector businesses (PSU) and private sector companies can take advantage of these facilities.
“At present, this is a troublesome process,” said K Shankar Raman, a Kendriya teacher Vidyalaya from Chennai.
Documentation work needs to be done at the Regional Transportation Office (RTO) in both countries.
First, people must get an objection certificate (NOC) from RTO where the vehicle is currently registered.
To get this, someone must submit four copies of form 28 with the chassis number pencil print, police cleaning certificate, original RC book and insurance certificate.
With this NOC, the owner must apply for re-registration at RTO in the country where he was transferred.
Again, they need to send 12 different documents to get a new local number plate.
“It takes a minimum of six months to complete it,” Raman said.
While the 15 states and the United States have launched a scheme, it is a non-starter in Tamil Nadu.
“The state government has not provided a nod,” said an official of the Senior Transportation Department, requested anonymity.
TN will lose most of its income from the process of re-registration of the vehicle if the new system is launched.
The BH-Series vehicle paid the tax once in two years over the tax regime for a lifetime (15 years), the official said.
The wing of the state of the Central Government employees has welcomed him, saying it will facilitate the transfer of a smooth inter-country vehicle mostly belonging to high-level officers (class I level or above).
But some members remain skeptical, afraid it can be another effort to violate the right to state rights.
