Wait Forever for arms licences since SIT However to Begin verification drive

Ludhiana: Residents might need to wait more time to find new arms licences since the city authorities have stopped issuing them for an extended period.
The decision had been taken since the special investigating team (SIT) shaped January this year to see whether the licences issued thus far are on real grounds hasn’t begun the confirmation drive.

The SIT includes joint commissioner of police (headquarters) J Elanchezihan, deputy commissioner of police (law and order) Ashwani Kapur and assistant commissioner of police (licensing) Ranjit Singh.

DCP Ashwani Kapur explained,”We’re supposed to phone every licence-holder into the office for confirmation.
