Wall collapse: Political parties demand action

Tirunelveli: Political parties in Tamil Nadu expressed shock to the collapse of the wall that claimed the lives of three students at the government assisted school in Tirunelveli on Friday.
Urge the state government to take strict action against those responsible for the tragedy so as to ensure that the incident does not repeat.
They also offered their condolences to the died relatives and hoped for a quick recovery to the injured.
TMC (M) President G K Vasan stated that the recent Northeast Monsun which pounded the country had damaged walls and school buildings and colleges in many districts.
He said that the stability of school buildings and government-assisted schools and other structures in the place must be examined.
Vasan said the government must provide the highest compensation for the relatives who died from the deceased.
Demanding strict action against those responsible for the incident, the founder of PMK S Ramadoss also said that RS 50 Lakh compensation must be given to relatives from three dead students and the best treatment must be given to four injured students.
The founder of the Ammk T V Dinarisan said Tirunelveli’s incident was a lesson for school management that they should not be negligent and careless about the construction at the institution’s place.
Former Secretary General of AIDMK V K Sasikala appealed to educational institutions to realize their responsibilities in making schools safe for students and acting responsibly.
