said on Wednesday, he planned to rent 20,000 workers in the supply chain division and increased wages ahead of the busy holiday season anticipating higher demand.
The role, which will be a mixture of part-time and full-time work, will be employed in more than 250 distribution centers of Walmart and Sam clubs, fulfillment centers and transportation offices, retailers said in a statement.
The world’s largest retailer also employs around 20,000 seasonal workers last year at the e-commerce fulfillment center to meet vacation demand.
The average wage for supply chain workers will be $ 20.37 per hour, the statement is added, which compares with the announcement of the company of $ 15.25 per hour wage average wage in February.
Walmart, however, did not disclose its costs for new recruitment and wages to increase.
