Mumbai: National Commission for Scheduled Cases has called Police Commissioner Mumbai Hemant Nagral and Director General of Police Sanjay Pandey on January 31 after filing a complaint by the former Zonal Director of Narcotics Control Sameer Wankhede against the leader of Nawab Malik.
Wankhede alleged that he was harassed by Malik, after a commission who had searched for a report from the Police Commissioner Mumbai and DGP Pandey.
Nagrrale was confirmed to TOI that the National Commission SC had called him because he wanted the details of the status of the probe, and also had been investigating further into the episode.
Following Wankhede’s complaint, the state government has entrusted investigations to Mumbai and DGP police chiefs.
Some teams are then arranged to investigate complaints.
The team has recorded Malik’s statement and Wankhede and several others.
After the NCB team led by Wankhede stormed a cruise ship on October 2 last year, arrested actor son Shah Rukh Khan Aryan, among others, Nawab Malik had made several accusations against him, including that the false attack and Wankhede had secured the job in Indian income services based on India Fake caste certificate.
Malik has alleged that while Sameer Wankhede belongs to the Muslim community, he has cheat to obtain a SC certificate to secure prestigious work.
Malik also filed a complaint to the District Level Castle Validity Committee, which was still investigating this problem.
Given a series of allegations, Wankhede submitted a petition on the National Commission SC, saying that he was harassed even though he was included in the SC community and that decisive action must be taken against the people involved in harassment and defamation.
Wankhede’s father has also submitted a defamation case in the Bombay High Court.
A senior IPS officer said the State House Department had searched for legal opinions throughout the episode.
“We have been looking for clues about the commission letter to the police commissioner and the Director General of Police,” the officer said.
