Mumbai: A week after the State Excise Department issued a notice, Thane Collector Rajesh Narvekwar on Friday sent a notification of fresh showcuse to Zonal Director NCB Sameer Wankhede to provide fraud information while securing a license for bars and restaurants in Navi Mumbai.
“We have requested the provisions of the Law on Maharashtra.
During the supervision of the document, it was found that he had provided fraud information.
He has called his age as an adult while the real age is far less, he is around 17 years old,” Narvekwar said.
Wankhede, who heads the Narcotics Control Bureau in Mumbai, has been involved in a series of controversies after the attack on a cruise ship in October 2.
Toi found that he had secured a license when he was 17 years old.
A license can be canceled if obtained through an accidental representation or fraudulent error.
A Senior Excise Officer said following the report in Toi and the complaints conducted by a NCP spokesman and the Minister of Nawab Malik skills development, the department began verifying documents and found that there was no evidence of age delivered with the original application, additional documents submitted to the age mentioned as people mature.
“We have asked him to give up his disputes within seven days, failed to be canceled licensed licenses , said the official was based on the law, district collectors were competent authorities to cancel or suspend the license.
“We want our actions to be stupid without lacunae,” he said.
