Wankhede led the probe in the case of shipping drugs where actor Shah’s son Rukh Khan Aryan Khan was arrested.
The NCB has ordered an investigation into the allegations made by a witness in the case of a 25-crore RS extension offer by several agency officials, including Wankhede, and others because they released Khan.
Maharashtra Minister and NCP leader Nawab Malik have leveled a series of charges against Wankhede.
Among other things, he accused officers to forge caste certificates and other documents to secure work as an IRS officer under the SC quota after cleaning the UPSC exam.
