Want a rescheduled test to ‘fifth’ series: ganguly

New Delhi: The “Mandiri” test proposed between India and Britain must be treated as the fifth match that determines the series that was canceled last week because of the Covid-19 outbreak in the Indian camp, BCCI President Souruly told PTI on Monday and ruled it out the possibility of being treated as One time game.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have written to the ICC to seek the verdict of the Dispute Resolution Committee (DRC) about the fate of the canceled match which will be played at Old Trafford, Manchester.
ICC has not commented on this problem.
“We want this series to be finished because this will be the first series we won (in the UK) since 2007,” Ganguly told PTI in an exclusive interview.
“BCCI stated that the test cricket was the final format and we would not endanger him for anything,” he explained.
India led 2-1 when the match was called last week after the visitors refused to step into the field after the positive cases of Covid-19 among their support staff, including the head coach Ravi Shastri.
Read the Alsofifth test was canceled because of the refusal of Indian players, not because of the IPL: Sourav Ganguly test Old Trafford was canceled last Friday just two hours before the start scheduled as a tourist, who led the 2-1 series, failed to coat the side after their physiotherapist was tested positive for Covid-19 .
“The players refuse to play but you cannot blame them,” said Salamva Sourava BCCI will allow the ECB to get an insurance replacement of 40 million pounds, it claims, it will help compensate for the loss due to the cancellation.
Asked whether BCCI has offered to play two additional international T20 when touring the team in July next year for a white ball series instead of a test, Ganguly said: “We are ready to play extra odi and T20is and it’s not a problem.” It’s just that the test match is just that It will be played later it will be the fifth match of the series.
“If the ICC considers that the match was abandoned because Covid-19, India would officially win the 2-1 series such as cancellation.
Considered as” acceptable non-compliance “under the rules of the world test championship .
“There was a priority series that was canceled because of Covid-19 in the last 18 months.
BCCI canceled his home series against South Africa last year which cost around 40 to 50 million pounds, “said the former captain.
He also hopes that in the near future there will be a” medical advice “concrete that will allow a series to go even with the Covid case in the team “Because we understand how detrimental to the game in terms of audience interests and viewers (TV and OTT) especially when the series is of high quality.
The cricket test is BCCI’s top priority, “he said.
Ganguly said that BCCI was” disappointed “that the match was called but it could not encourage the players to worry outside the point.” We were very disappointed because this series had to be canceled.
The only reason is the Covid-19 outbreak and player safety.
We can only push them at a point.
“But pandemics are very severe so someone can only go away,” he explained.
Asked whether the choice to hit a new team by resting some senior players, uncomfortable, considered, Ganguly answered negatively.
“No it’s not an option.
If you see Yogesh Parmar (Junior Physio tested positively just before the match) is the close contact of each player,” Ganguly said.
“So obviously it is the cause of worries.
It is something that has no control and them (the players) have a family traveling with them,” he added, justifying anxiety in the camp.
ECB CEO Tom Harrison also said that every effort was made to entertain traveling players but “perceptions of what might happen” makes them afraid of playing.
Asked whether he would try and sort him “will find out something.”
