Ghaziabad: Rakesh Tikait, who has led a farmer’s protest at the Ghazipur border since last November, on Friday irrevocies about whether Delhi’s police moved the barricade from several parts of the road would see the reciprocal movement from him by removing the tents that blocked the highway.
BKU, The Outfit Tikait Leads, issued a statement against “rumors” that it will empty the top gate protest site and advise farmers to reach large amounts of Ghazipur borders to provide a fresh urge to new agitation to the new center.

“Delhi’s police have blocked DME (Delhi-Meerut Expressway) after January 26, and after we clarified our stands at the Supreme Court, Delhi police corrected his mistake by releasing the barricade to DME,” said BKU statement.
Asked about the next step, Tikait linked the removal of the blockade by Delhi police with the Supreme Court intervention.
“Like commuters, we also face discomfort because of the blockade.
We want to go to Delhi to sell our agricultural products in front of the parliament because Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself says we can sell our products wherever we want,” said Tikaite.
BKU leader, who left for Karnal in Haryana, said Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) would meet to discuss the latest developments.
“After new developments on the protest site, a shared decision will be taken at the SKM meeting,” he said.
