Nagpur: With only a few months left for Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) to go for the election in early 2022, protest against the Bharatiya Janata Janata Party (BJP) in power (BJP) for failure in many fronts takes place in the city.
Prabhag Number 31 Residents will be taken to the road on Sunday to condemn the four BJP Corporator who ruled because it failed to provide adequate civil facilities in South Nagpur.
Speaking to Toi on the night of their protest, residents claimed that four Corporators BJP Ravindra Bhoyar, Kamdi Shiti, USHA and Satacy Holey pilots failed to provide even basic civil facilities such as the right way, a well-maintained drainage park, the area.
Group Convelor Ravindra Bhusari said, “Public protest rally will be held at Mahavir Nagar Maidan on Sunday at 4pm.
A large number of residents of Ward 31 will attend this protest meeting by the ‘Maza Mahavir Nagar’ social group.” Residents say that if the situation remains Same, they will boycott the ruling party in the next civilian poll.
Much shows that some selected representatives have influenced the development of locality.
“In fact, instead of increasing facilities, civil facilities in Prabhag have deteriorated,” said other residents of Ishwar Balbhude.
Residents also claim that except holes, they have not seen one of the three BJP Corporators who receive feedback from residents over basic facilities.
Balbhude added, “On behalf of development, the ruling party has destroyed the environment because hundreds of trees planted are fully cut due to building cement roads.” The path is not maintained without a closing shotger, he said, adding that the drainage line in many places is also damaged.
Locals say internal roads are also poor condition.
Many roads have not been renovated in the last 10 years, they added.
The collection of garbage doors to the door in this part of the city has deteriorated, resulting in an increase in black spots where people throw garbage, Balbhude said.
This has caused an increase in diseases that are transmitted through vectors.
According to residents, someone cannot open the door and window even during the day because of the threat of mosquitoes.
The population showed that in the past too, the Maza Mahavir Nagar group had held a protest meeting and met with the sitting corporators.
The Canporators have promised a program that is bound to time for the development of the area that falls under this Prabhag.
“But nothing is done so far,” the alleged resident of Anil Gumpare.
Citing Cites, another resident who was harmed by Rakesh Pandit claimed that Mahavir Nagar’s land had turned into an ideal place for anti-social elements.
“After sunset, this big open land turns into an open bar.
Although there are complaints to the sitting corporations, there are no steps taken to solve this problem,” Harsha Wankhede said.
To curb this, the residents and members of Maza Mahavir Nagar, which consisted of Dinesh Bhagwatkar, Shibangi Pohre, Amol Bhusari, Pradip Shivankar, Vinayak Sawe and Priya Pohre, among others, did a lot of awareness campaigns and drives Mega plantations on the ground, which leads to the Mayor of Dayashankar Tiwari stated the area as a ‘oxygen zone’.
However, residents of Mahavir Nagar accused that “inactive canporators” have failed to improve basic facility status.
Like big land, the condition of Mahavir Garden is no different.
The bushes have appeared across the park and without security guards deployed there, it has become a hotspot for lovebirds.
“So on Sunday, MAZA Mahavir Nagar will protest by holding placards that reveal the absence of sitting choreors,” Bhusari said.
