Pune: An old woman (67) showed the presence of her mind and thwarted a robbery offer after four men approached her as a police officer on Friday morning at Kaspate Vasti at Wakad and tried to rob the golden chain.
The woman filed a complaint with police Wakad in the afternoon.
According to the police, the woman wore a gold chain and a ring.
Around 11:30 a.m., he walked to the Shiv Temple nearby when the incident happened.
Assistant Inspector Santosh Patil from Police Wakad told Tii, “There were four men and two of them realized the woman under police clothes with ordinary clothes.
They asked him to remove the chain by quoting the robbery in the area.
They asked him to keep ornaments safely in his bag , “said Patil.
“The woman took off her ornaments and held it in her hand instead of keeping them in the bag.
The suspects thought she had kept the ornaments in the bag and tried to take it when the woman began to shout,” said Patil.
“Four men, who were walking on the road, heard his scream and started running towards him.
The three men then ran towards the motorbike and his fourth drove away from that place,” he said.
The woman did not sustain an injury in the incident.
