Warriors a third might lose BMC incentives

Mumbai: While a third of the population doctors who worked widely over the first two waves in a pandemic rejected the number of tokens of Rs 1.21 lakh in recognition of their services, ironically, a set of doctors who have not started their residency.
tend to benefit from it.
BMC has proposed to use Rs 26.07 Crore to provide 2,155 Covid Warriors incentives – including the first Junior Resident doctor, second and three – after government resolution passed in October.
However, clauses in circular, however, mention that the number of tokens will be given only to the population doctor who is in service.
This clause will dispose of Batch 2018, the residency period ends on July 1, 2021, comes out of the ambit circle.
At the same time, batch 2021, which should start their residency maybe, but will join the end of this month, it can be included.
The doctor called the move unfair.
“BMC makes provisions for three batch of resident doctors, when currently only two batches are in service.
If they do not provide money tokens to first year students, then why BMC includes them in the budget.
Including it will also be unfair because this batch has not joined and haven’t worked in a pandemic at all, “said one doctor from the Maharashtra Association of a senior resident doctor bound.” On the contrary, we have been around since the first day of the first wave until the last day of the second wave.
Our academics are affected, many of us go down with Covid and some Even suffering from severe post-covid complications.
We only seek recognition of the work we do at a time, when even senior doctors work from a distance, “another doctor said.
The association has written to the Cabinet Minister Aditya Thackeray looking for his intervention.
