Irbil: Iraq, an attack by militant Islamic State in a village in North Iraq killed at least 12 people, including a number of Kurdish forces, the Kurdish media reported Friday.
The attack took place late Thursday in a village in the Makhlour region, triggering confrontation with Peshmerga Kurdish forces.
Among the dead is nine Pesherma and three civilians, said private broadcasters Rudaw on its website.
There is no claim by Islamic militants for attacks and details not immediately available.
Defeated on the battlefield in 2017 but the attack targets Iraqi security forces – including Peshmerda Kurda fighters – public remains.
Militants are still active through sleeping cells in many regions, especially in the savory area in the north under the disputes between the federal Iraq and the semi-autonomous Kurdistan regional government.
The US-led defeat to defeat has announced the end of his combat mission and the word army will withdraw from Iraq at the end of December.
Advisers will continue to train Iraqi troops.
