ThiruvananThapuram: more research material about instilling the need to maintain environmental cleanliness and waste scientific waste will be included in the school curriculum by considering the current reality, the Minister of Public Education V Sivankutty said in the assembly on Friday.
Replying to the call of call in this case by Eldhos P Kunnappallil, the minister said that some lessons about the subject had been included in science science, social science and Malayalam textbooks.
Some on how state rivers face pollution have been included in the social science textbook from the fifth standard, while in the sixth standard textbook, the subject of waste disposal, along with discussions on Vermicompost, bio-pupah, biogas factory etc., has been included, Sivankutty.
Similarly, environmental pollution, sustainable agriculture, global warming and methods to reduce them, public health and waste in public places, the need for natural conservation, etc., has also been discussed in various textbooks in eighth, nine and 10, he said.
However, the new curriculum committee will include more subjects like that when viewed, Sivankutty assured the assembly.
