“Only small amounts are pushed in from the international border, and for that also BSF needs to maintain its vigilance without compromise through limited width 100-200 meters.
If any medicines or weapons can cross the limited width that should remain under the tight vigil then only BSF is responsible.
If they cannot keep the width correctly, which is their main job, why should they have jurisdiction on the border in 50 km? “He said.
Deputy CM said the question from police officials revealed that in many recovery cases, vendors had been found carrying heroin from Delhi and there were even examples of delivery coming from herbs.
“Most of the drug consignments come to Punjab from the opposite direction, namely from Delhi, and not from the international border.
Whatever quantity originating from the international border or weapons is encouraged to it is only the BSF responsible and responsible for any weakness.
In such a scenario there is no logic in increasing its jurisdiction, “he said.

Over the past few years, Punjab police have arrested foreign nationals, including women, who were also involved in carrying drugs from Delhi.
In the first week of July, a joint operation by Punjab and Delhi Polda has led to the confiscation of 17 kg of heroin from a farmhouse in Sainik Farm, Delhi, and arrested four Afghan citizens.
On August 31, the Kapurthala police confiscated 20 kg of heroin brought from Jammu.
Randhawa also pointed to contrast to the former Minister of Amarinder Singh’s Chairperson in 2016, when he accused the BSF-Mr.
