Pune: A total of five dams in Bhima Basin continued with the release of water because the shares in the dam have reached full capacity.
The State Irrigation Department said that this dam included Dimbhe, Kalmodi, Bhama Askhed, Andra and Kadashai.
Officials from the State Irrigation Department said that the release of water will be stopped if the flow of rainwater in this reservoir goes down in the next few days.
“The release of water from the five dam ranges from 50 cusecs to 600 cusecs.
We have notified local administration to start adequate preventive measures along the river in the release of background water,” officials said.
Officials said that they had monitored the water level and rainfall activity in the five dam.
“Rainfall does not increase in the catch of the dam then it is impossible to release water rising”, officials said.
Apart from five dams, stock water in many dams in Bhima Basin has risen to full capacity.
Of the 25 main dams, shares above 15 Dams 100% including five dams that supplied water to Pune and Pavana Dam who served Pimpri Chinchwad’s water requirements, officials said.
