Bengaluru: Where is the way? Residents Tatanagar, of Sahakarnagar in Bangalore North, were left wondering this on Monday morning after a retaining wall Doddabommasanandra Lake destroyed due to heavy rains.
While about 300 homes in the area of flooding, 30 roads in Tatanagar and Sahakarnagar was under water.
Employees have a difficult time accessing the Unique Identification Authority of India office (UIDAI) in Tatanagar.
“The situation is miserable until Monday afternoon because we could hardly get out of the house,” said Anil K Reddy, Secretary of the Resident Welfare Association Tatanagar.
“There was water everywhere but not a drop to drink,” he added.
Prasad G, another resident, said the two wheels and the car completely submerged.
“Around 230 the morning, I got a call from neighbors who are in a state of panic.
So I rushed to the balcony to see my road completely flooded,” said Prasad.
“I parked on the street but there are no signs until 2 pm on Monday,” he added.
There are 11 main roads and nine road traffic in the area.
There are 3-4 feet of water in the main 1 to 5 and the first main crossing to cross the 9th.
Employees working in the Office Uidai remove their shoes and socks and take the support of the wall of the neighboring building to enter the premises, said Ravikumar S, a resident.
“Sad to see the state of affairs of our civil government.
BBMP must understand this is a central government organization and improve the facilities,” he added.
Around 1:30 pm, BBMP officials reached Tatanagar and reassure residents that the water will be drained.
“There is a funding crisis, but we soon worked for a permanent solution.
Culverts will be made so that the residential area is not affected,” said an official of the BBMP (lake).
