Salem: After maintaining its full capacity – 120ft – for 41 days, the water level at Stanley Reservoir in Metto in Salem Regency fell to 119.04ft on Saturday.
Public department officials said the water level was reduced to 119.64ft further on Saturday because the water discharge of the dam was maintained at the same level even after the decline in.
Inflow reduced to 4,424 cusecs from 6,000 cusecs in the last two days, said an official PWD.
As per recent direction from the state government, PWD has released a 10,000 cusec water from the dam for irrigation purposes.
“We increase it to 15,000 cusecs from Friday night and so on,” said the official.
The dam reached full capacity on November 13.
