Noida: Group housing activities and mass consumers in Noida have to pay water bills according to their actual daily use from now on.
Noida authorities will begin the process of installing electronic water meters in more than 6,500 companies throughout the city in two weeks.
At present, it is evaluating financial documents and offers from two private institutions, which will choose one for the work this week alone, officials said.
Until now, the authority took a fixed monthly fee of flat owners and other bulk consumers according to their plot size.
Monthly fees for apartment users range from Rs 250-500.
Deputy General Manager of the Department of Water Work and Sewerage Authority, RP Singh said, “We are evaluating documents and financial offerings of two private institutions that have shown interest in installing meters in the city.
The process must end on Friday and we will be in a position to provide work To the elected agent immediately after.
“Officials added that every mass consumer and the group housing community would be treated as a unit and only one meter to be installed.
“The meter will track consumption at the source,” Singh added.
Having more than 83,000 people, the authority first expressed the idea of ​​installing a water meter in August 2020.
Although at first all the people were borne, after deliberation with senior officials, the decision to conduct pilot experiments was taken before covering the entire city.
After that, the authority has floated the tender document and invited the bidder on several occasions.
Officials say now the project will be formed.
For early feet, the authority has identified the community housing groups and other bulk water users from various categories.
About 6,500 companies like that will be borne, official said.
Even though the number of monthly bills is expected to increase by doubling, Rwas has welcomed the decision.
“This will offer transparency and will be beneficial for long-term bulk water users,” said Rajesh Sahay, Secretary General of the Federation Noida from the apartment owner’s association.
