Madurai: Hundreds of AIDMK members participated in protests held in five southern districts – Madurai, Theni, Dindigul, Ramanathapuram and Sivagagai – to condemn the government of Kerala and Tamil Nadu for their actions which resulted in releasing water from a multaperiary dam before storage.

“How could AIDMK the government store water up to 142 feet,” said the party coordinator and former Paneererselvam’s main minister while overcoming protesters in the Cumbum in the district.
He accused the government of two countries betraying farmers and people from five districts in Tamil Nadu.
He said that the Kerala government had spread lies about the power of the dam since 2000.
Panneerselvam said the government led by AIDMK from Tamil Nadu was categorically against the lie and overcoming the problems raised by neighboring countries.
The government under J Jayalithaa has made efforts to increase storage to 152 feet through communication with Kerala and also conducts legal battles before the Supreme Court when the party has been in power until 2006.
The government of Jayalalithaa has spent several crores rupees to strengthen some crores.

Former Minister of Selur K Raju and R B Udhayakumar lead protests in the Madurai district.
