Mangaluru: Interference in the water supply at the Goschen Government Hospital here triggered panic on Sunday.
Their patients and servants look roaming with a bucket to get water from outside, after the water supply to the hospital building stopped.
Opposition leader Mangaluru City Corporation Corporation A C Vinayaraj said the water supply was disrupted in the building due to lack of maintenance.
“When the pumpset is dead, water cannot be pumped from the bah to the Overhead tank.
The district government must ensure that the water supply in the hospital is not disturbed by any cost,” Vinayaraj said.
South Mangaluru City MLA D Vedavyas Kamath and Mayor of Premanand Shetty rushed to the hospital immediately after receiving information.
Kamath said there were two pumps in the hospital.
“Because one of them is dead, water is pumped through reserves.
But it also sounds, leading to water supply disruption.
Repair work is taken on a war footing, and the water supply has been restored,” said MLA.
