Guwahati: Reply to MP Questions Ajit Kumar Bhuyan from Assam at Rajya Sabha, center Monday said water projects in the city, which are still incomplete, will be assigned phase from March next year.
Four water supply projects were being built in the city to resolve the crisis of drinking water which was tens of years.
Construction of the Southeast Guwahati project, funded by the Asian Development Bank, began in 2016; Guwahati southwest, funded by Jawaharlal Nehru National Round Renewal Mission (JICA), in 2009; Guwahati southern, funded by JICA, in 2011 and the North Guwahati project, funded by the Japanese International Cooperation Agency, in 2011.
Kaushal Kishore, Minister of State, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, said in Rajya Sabha, “The Assam government has informed That except the Southeast Guwahati water supply project, three other projects have been postponed due to the delay in receiving permits needed from the train authority, the National Highway Authority of India and Assam PWD.
