Jaipur: Inadequate monsoon rain has succeeded in increasing the water surface of the bisalpur dam only with 1 cm, which is not enough to meet the needs of Jaipur even for a day.
PHP officials said if there was no heavy rainfall in the catchment area until August 20, the city water supply must be trucked.
The current water level is 309.36 meters.
Manish Beniwal, the addition of additional engineers at Phed said, “We have cut a 10% water supply recently.
If the water level does not rise, we must cut further supply.” Dam provides water to Jaipur, Tonk and Ajmer in which 1TMC consumed every day.
Jaipur water consumption is around 460 months per day and is mainly supplied from Bisalpur.
In the current scenario, Bisalpur can provide water for five months without rain, but it needs heavy rainfall to survive for a year.
Subhanshu Dixit, SE, Bisalpur Dam, said, “We need heavy rainfall to fill the dam.
Light rainfall will not help the water level up.
We expect good rainfall in August or we will have a cut supply.”
