Madurai: The third and final flood warnings will be given at 10 o’clock tonight at night when the surface of the water in the Vaigai Dam reaches 69 feet against a 71-foot full reservoir capacity.
Following the third flood alarm, 1,000 cusecs will be removed from the reservoir to the Vaigai River.
Management and disaster revenues have asked people from a low-lying area and on the banks of the river to move to a safe place and refrain from bathing in rivers or channels that connect the downstream river.
