Waterlogging across Ulhasnagar raise question over drainage clean up work

ULHASNAGAR: The first heavy rain for few hours resulted into waterlogging across Ulhasnagar city where many places people complained about waterlogging and water entering into houses due to not proper clean up of nullahs and drainage lines.
An MNS leader Bandu Deshmukh alleged that in Shiru chowck drainage line after clean up work was left open which could have been fatal as open drainage was submerged in water but locals at spot were seen alerting all motorists passing from road to do not pass from drainage side area or else someone could have fell into open drain.
Similarly in furniture market garbage which was removed from drainage was seen lying on road side which due to flooding again washed into drainage.
In plush gol maidan area also people complained about waterlogging.
In camp number 2 water had entered inside the houses in slum areas.
Looking at situation in city, BJP’s corporator Dimple Thakur has written Commissioner of Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation and Mayor asking them to stop the payment of contractor who did not clean proper drainage and also left garbage in open at some places resulted into waterlogging.
In Kalyan-Dombivli, very few places in low lying areas reported waterlogging issue.
In Bhiwandi too several places people complained about waterlogging in low lying area.
In Badlapur, a car was stuck inside subway due to waterlogging.
