Gurgaon: Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) is set to reconstruct a decry of 1,500 meters damaged from the Stormwater Drain Master near Basai Chowk who can resolve repetitive misery from the City of Lowlands 9 and 9A by the next Monsun.
GMDA core planning cell, senior official said, has approved the RS 13 Crore for the work.
Drain the master between Umang Bhardwaj Chowk and the culverts-culverts-culverts-culverts by a private agent during the construction of chowk lavis and a train bridge on near the village of Barai.
Water from all old Gurgaon, including sector 9 and 9A, flows out into a damaged stretch, said GMDA official.
Pardeep Kumar, head of the GMDA (infra-2) engineer, told TI that the sewer on the road service near Barai Chowk would be reconstructed.
“We will reconstruct 1,500 meters from the Master Drain and RS 13 Crore, it has been approved at the GMDA core planning cell meeting.
We strive to complete the tender process in the next two months.
We hope that the work will be completed before the rainy season next year,” he said.
During the past 18 months, residents of sectors 9 and 9A have demanded that the damaged Master Drain be repaired to overcome the problem of waterlogging.
They also raised this problem at the CM complaints committee meeting.
In response, Khattar had directed GMDA to come up with a proposal to solve this problem.
“Sector 9 is the lowest part of the old Gurgaon and does not have its own internal drainage, which worsens water problems.
However, GMDA can only do the main drainage work.
Internal drainage must be handled by the corporation of Gurgaon City,” Kumar said.
Residents have welcomed the decision.
“It is good that the authority finally pays attention to our concerns and improves the drain line of the damaged one and a half years ago during the construction of the flyover adjacent to our sector.
Ideally, there should be a plan in a place before the flyover construction work began,” said Lalit Suraj Bhola, sector Agung Sector 9a Residents’ Welfare Association.
