Kolkata: The 26-year-old young man from Mission Bazar in KeshT’g was arrested by Bidhannagar police last week in connection with several theft in Salt Lake.
The defendant, Subhajit Pal (26), was found to wear a jacket with reflectors in CCTV footage but the police could not identify him because his face was covered by a mask.
However, friend, while wandering around the road in Salt Lake, crashing into a police team at the night patrol and the police recognized him with the help of his jacket, which reflected the van police lights.
Over the past few weeks, several thefts and Coppocket were reported from gas stations, markets and shops in Salt Lake.
“At some take CCTV, we found the man wearing the same jacket.
We told all police stations in the area about criminals.
Finally, he landed in the police net and a jacket with reflectors around his chest helped us find it,” said an officer of Bidhannagar Commissioner .
“The young man’s movement was also suspicious.
We asked him to stop but he began to run.
We became convinced that he was accused of some cases of theft and arresting him.
We tried to recover stolen goods from him,” said an officer of the Bidhannagar North Police Station.
The defendant was a known criminal who was arrested several times before, according to the police.
