WB: a new Covid case at a 3-digit low for the first time since March

Kolkata: The number of fresh Covid cases in Bengal fell to the three digit numbers on Monday for the first time in more than three months.
New cases in the city too, have fallen into two digits.
On Monday, the country recorded 885 fresh cases while Kolkata recorded 64.
Health experts said the Covid situation in the state was under control but warned that guards had to stay awake.
“The number of cases declining satisfying as far as controlling infection.
But the phase of unlocking this key is very important and we all have to hold on to the appropriate Covid behavior so that the number does not immediately start shooting,” said a public health specialist in Swasthya Bhawan Anirban through.
The last time Bengal recorded new cases in three digits was March 31, with 982 cases with two deaths.
For Kolkata, new cases have been in two digits for the last time on March 19 with 99 cases and no death.
But the number began to rise after Holi.
“Covid restrictions have worked together with drive vaccination.
Because of the magnitude of the second wave, this time people are more aware and follow the rules.
The government sidewalk easing, gradually, is a careful step,” said the Debkishore Gupta infectious disease control specialist.
Of the four digits for a better part of April, the number began to swell into five digits in the third week of April, touching 20,846 cases on May 14 – the highest during the entire pandemic.
For the city, the highest number of new cases recorded on May 12 with 3,989 cases and 44 deaths.
The slowdown begins right after the government imposes covid restrictions throughout the state and the amount falls to four digits after two weeks.
Already in a 1,000 plus mark for the past two weeks.
“We are unable to let our guards go down.
The third wave and the size will depend on how our responsibilities are now,” said through.
While all districts, including Kolkata, have begun reporting cases in two digits, 24 North parganas have 109 cases on Monday.
