KOLKATA: 2 bike-borne miscreants fired two rounds also snatched a gold chain along with a bracelet out of a gold dealer in Baranagar on Tuesday morning.
The dealer, Pabitra Barik’s relatives had a very narrow escape.
The miscreants fled the area after the episode.
Not one was detained yet in accordance with this episode.
As reported by a regional resources, the incident happened around 11.30am when Barik was likely to see his uncle’s family residing at Sambhunath Das Lane close Sonapatty below the ward 21 of Baranagar Municipality.

“My uncle died a few weeks ago.
I came here in order to fulfill his bereaved relatives.

On hearing the rifle taken, Barik’s her son hurried from the home to get the snatchers attempting to flee.

“We watched Barik yelling for assistance while the snatchers were attempting to flee.
My son raised an alarm to alarm the natives.

Cops hurried to the place and gathered CCTV footage which showed the cyclists were fleeing the place.
“There are many individuals connected with gold investing in the region that’s locally called Sonapatty.
We guess the miscreants targeted on the golden dealer.
We’re scanning the CCTV footage to recognize the miscreants,” said a senior police officer of this Barrackpore commissionerate.
