WB: Diesel reaches a century; Sell in Purulia at Rs 100.14 / Liter

Purulia: Diesel violates a century sign in Bengal for the first time as sold in all fuel beds in Purulia for Rs 100.14 per liter on Friday.
In Kolkata, the price is Rs 98.35.
Sources in oil companies say the higher shipping costs in Purulia have pushed prices outside the RS 100, because the closest depot in Durgapurh Rajbandh is 166km.
They said the price increase in Kolkata was unavoidable.
Vice President of the West Bengal Petroleum Dealer Association Snehmik also blamed the distance between fuel loading points and fuel stations.
“First, it was gasoline; and now, even Diesel has crossed the RS 100 sign.
Very frustrating to witness this never-ended fuel price increase.
The government must consider trim taxes,” he said.
Madhusudan Shaw, who opened BPCL’s fuel bed at Jhalda Purulia was almost three months ago, said the business was very slow.
“I’m really worried now to pay off my huts,” he added.
Abhedananda Mahamato, who also runs a fuel station in the Jhalda, said that gasoline sales have dropped 30% in three months after the price label reaches Rs 100.
“Now, the increase in diesel prices will affect further sales.” The price of fuel in this country has touched the recording level since April this year.
While Diesel sold at Rs 77.41 in early 2021 and saw RS 6 up in the first four months, prices jumped by Rs 15 per liter in the next six months.
And, it’s likely to rise further, according to the fuel station operator.
Globally, the price of crude oil has violated the highest multi-year after the crunch of energy supply.
However, oil prices fell on the international market on Friday by selling Brent Benchmark crude at $ 84.13.
Brent had touched a three-year high of $ 86.10 on Thursday, but was dipped on Friday in the first weekly autumn since September 3.
