WB: District Admin to track leaflets in the house quarantine

Kolkata: The State Health Department has requested the District Administration along with health officials to track international leaflets in the quarantine of the house.
This is one step taken by the state government to prevent the spread of omicron.
As a protocol to load Omicron, all international leaflets arrive in Kolkata from high-risk countries and those who have a history of travel to these countries need to undergo a RT-PCR test on arrival.
While positive testing will be sent to the designated hospital, which tests negatives must be sent home.
But negative leaflets must be in a strict house quarantine for seven days and undergo a RT-PCR test on eighth day.
The circular sent on Wednesday from the Director of the National Health Mission of Saumitra Mohan to all district judges and the chairman of the medical staff, have asked them to make arrangements to track and monitor the travelers like that and remind them of the RT-PCR test on eighth day.
The Ministry of Health will provide a list and details of the leaflet in the house quarantine.
District officials have also been told to update contacts made with travelers with health officials.
“Symptoms may require 2-3 days to appear after being infected from fellow passengers.
So someone might be infected but RT-PCR becomes negative in that case.
Therefore we need to be vigilant to limit the movement of international passengers who are even asymptomatic or few symptoms to examine deployment .
Strategy-track test-treat should be implemented strictly in early so that we can reduce the rate of infection, “said Anirban Dalui Public Health Specialist.
For those who tested on arrival, the government has identified the heelaghata hospital for isolation and treatment, while the swab sample they are sent for genome analysis.
