WB Govt prioritizes JAB doses 2 to clear the backlog that increases

Kolkata: The state government has decided to prioritize the recipient of the second dose vaccine to overcome the problem of the number of second dose requirements that increase rapidly amid the lack of vaccines.
In the district, 50% of the vaccine stock will be set aside for the second dose recipient; In Kolkata, Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) will use all vaccine stocks for the second dose inoculation in the clinic on Wednesday and Thursday.
“Because of the lack of acute vaccines, the second dose will be given a priority for now, until we accept adequate quantity.
The state government is fully committed to all initial vaccination,” said Ajay Chakraborty, Director of State, Health Services (DHS), spelling steps which will be taken in the district and in Kolkata.
So far, Bengal has given 2.17 doses of crore vaccines, calculating the first and second jab.
The health department official said there were 83,449 people in Kolkata only for getting the second dose.
From them, 69% have crossed a 16-week gap that is currently prescribed for covishield and a six-week gap for Covaxin.
Throughout Bengal, this number is 8.43,847.
However, the country only has around 6 doses of lakh in stock, does not count private hospital inventory.
However, officials said they expected more delivery in a few days.
Between June 23 and June 29, the state has received a total of 11,29,460 doses, from covishield and covaxin.
During this period, the country was managed approaching 20 doses of lakh.
Health officials said only about 13% of these were by the private sector.
Government sources, however, are afraid that next month can be worse if supply does not relieve it immediately.
The second dose matured during July in Kolkata (from those who had taken the first dose between April 1 and May 7) was 6.37,263.
That number is 37,93,640 for Bengal.
Among the districts with a high number of high doses were North and South Pargana, Howrat, Hooghly and Murshidabad.
The Ministry of Health has prepared a second dose list of districts and has instructed district officials to identify and offer the second dose to recipients who qualified without further delay.
“The problem in uploading data due to co-win problems, where people have to be offline the first offline at the initial stage, it has also become a problem in people who do not get a second dose warning on time,” said an official at Swasthya Bhawan.
The Ministry of Health also distributes a list containing the number of wise recipients of the district doses that both will mature up to July-end, and have requested district health officials to wear their drives.
“I believe this second dose problem is in other countries too, perhaps because of technical problems.
But it is necessary to identify this default and offer a dose of booster immediately, because it takes a second shot in the specified schedule offering optimal improvement,” said Santanu Tripathi, a test specialist Senior clinical and former head of clinical and experimental pharmacology at school.
Tropical drugs.
Imunologist with Ganguly, a scientist at the Indian Chemical Biology Institute, felt there was nothing wrong if the second dose was postponed by several weeks.
“It’s better to be late than not at all.
People must take the second dose,” he said.
