Kolkata: West Bengal Assembly on Tuesday issued a resolution that supports the Ad-hoc committee report that supports the creation of the legislative council, in the middle of the opposition by BJP.
Resolution – ‘Consideration of the Ad Hoc Committee report to examine the recommendations for the creation of the Legislative Council’ – was transferred by the Minister of Parliament State Parta Chatterjee under the rule of 169 of the home business behavior procedure.
Voting was held with it rightly, with 196 of 265 members present at home that support the creation of the council and 69 against it.
The BJP legislative party, while opposing its resolution, said TMC wanted to pursue “backdoor politics” to help party leaders elected as members of the parliament assembly.
The Safron party also argues that the move will put pressure on the state.
Upholizing BJP, alone ISF MLA Naushad Siddiqui also opposes its resolution.
