WB: School was asked to submit a report on building conditions

Kolkata: The school education department has asked schools and schools assisted by the government to submit reports on their building conditions and infrastructure.
Many in the academics saw this as the first step towards preparation for the government to continue in-people after gradually Durga Puja.
Some Cisce and CBSE schools have also decided to do maintenance work, now there are no students who visit the campuses.
Earlier this month, Minister of Mamata Banerjee’s head announced that the government planned a reopening of schools and colleges after the Puja, provided the number of Covid cases did not rise.
The education department has now sent a school list to the physical condition of the building, classrooms, furniture and other infrastructure, especially because all campuses have been closed since March last year.
“The school has received a notification from the Ministry of Education, asking about the condition of the place, classrooms, and furniture because the campuses have been closed for more than 16 months.
There are two cyclones and extreme weather conditions that might affect the structure,” said Chandan Maity, Secretary General Advanced headmasters and headmistresses.
The Ministry of Education wants to make sure school buildings do not fall to resolve so that when the campuses are reopened, students, teachers and staff are not dangerous.
“In Amphan and Yaas, many school buildings damaged with trees that revoke and balconies collapsed.
There are also floods in many parts of the country.
We want to measure the situation before the campus open,” said an official of the Ministry of Education.
Jadavpur Vidyapith Parimal Parimal Bhattacharya said maintenance work was carried out throughout the year and they could start the class every time the government decided.
“We have done maintenance work and when needed.
The school is ready for in-class classes,” he said.
“Because the place is empty, many institutes have taken this opportunity to repair buildings.” This is not only public schools, but CBSE and Cisce schools have also made improvements.
“This is a sustainable process in our school and we are always ready,” said Meena Sis, Director, Lakshmipat Singhania Academy.
The principal shows that every time the government gives up, they will start with practice.
“We get our laboratory cleaned and refilled so we can start with practical practices,” said the Head of the ICSE School in Central Kolkata.
