Kolkata: When the entire state sank in the celebration, the state government has encouraged its vaccination journey from medical colleges managed by the government and other hospitals.
Despite the low selection during a party, the drive was taken from Saturday itself.
Until the report came last, the state edged towards 6 lakh doses for that day.
Health officials said there would be further changes in vaccination equipment from Monday.
The rate of vaccination slowed from Wednesday and until Friday only around 1.5 doses of lakh were given for three days.
But officials scaled from Saturday by activating around 2,300 sites and 200-plus private CVCs.
“Our target for October is around 1.8 crore doses where we have completed around 80 lakh.
We will increase our trip further from Monday,” said the Welfare Officer of the State of Ashim Das Malang.
On Saturday, a little above 68% of the qualified Bengal population had received at least one dose.
Of about 6.6 Crore Jabs provided so far, close to 4.8 crore is the first dose.
The current country has around 45 doses of lakh in ownership and more bottles are expected to arrive.
In Kolkata, more than 74 doses of lakh have been managed by 47 lakh-plus are the first dose.
The KMC vaccination center is reopened on Saturday.
But most of them see lukewarm response.
For example, some KMC-run clinics in the Jadavpur Tollygunge belt on Saturday reopened after a four-day gap.
Even when the allocation for each of the 102 vaccination clinics is 250 doses of several clinics in Bijoygh, Baghajatin, Netajinagar, Jadavpur and Gearis noted no more than 75 recipients at the end of the day.
Some clinics even only recorded 50 recipients.
“We have recorded a lukewarm response from the receiver as far as vaccination at our clinic,” said a KMC official.
