WASHINGTON: Biden Administration will accelerate the processing of asylum claims at the As-Mexican border while also a quick tracking understanding of several migrant families, according to a plan launched by the White House on Tuesday.
President Joe Biden, a Democrat, has reversed many restrictive immigration policies from his predecessor of the Republican, former President Donald Trump.
But the arrest of the border has increased to 20 years high in recent months, triggering attacks by Republicans, who said Biden pushed more migration.
The 21 point plan aims to create an immigration system that is “fair, orderly and human” but notes that “will not be achieved overnight.” The details of the plan had previously been predicted by administration in the demand for annual budgets to Congress and other announcements.
Administration aims to accelerate the processing of asylum claims on the southern border by ratifying asylum officers to rule in cases, according to the plan, past the federal immigration court recorded.
The draft rules to make the change have been reviewed in the White House Budget Office since the beginning of July.
The government also said it would use a process known as an accelerated removal to resolve cases of several families captured on the US-Mexican border faster, potentially deporting them.
However, the document provides several details about new policies.
Two sources who are familiar with the move said the deportation of fast trajectories would only apply to families that did not claim to be fear of persecution in their home countries.
Some proposals in blueprints are likely to be studied by parliamentarians when the Secretary of the Security of Alejandro Mayorkas, testify of administrative funding requests at the Senate Committee on Tuesday.
Among the budget demand, Biden administration was seeking funds that would allow several migrant families and other vulnerable individuals to accept legal representatives as a case of immigration they moved through the US court system.
