We have written a letter to Instagram, Facebook about violations of law by Rahul Gandhi: Head of NCPCR Priyank Kanoongo

New Delhi: About a week after complaining to Twitter’s micro-blogging sites on alleged violations of the rules by the leader of Congress Rahul Gandhi, the National Commission for Children’s Rights Protection (NCPCR) has been written to Instagram and Facebook to take action in this case as a similar post still exists on these two social media platforms.
Talking to Tii, Chairman of NCPCR Priyank Kanoongo said, “Two-three days ago, we sent notifications to Instagram and Facebook stating that Post Rahul Gandhi violated Indian law and, therefore, actions must be taken in this matter.” Kanoongo said he hoped an action on the notice that he had sent to two social media platforms.
“If Instagram and Facebook do not take any action then we will approach the Delhi police and stay.
Our job is to take the appropriate action every time the law is violated,” he said.
Rahul Gandhi’s account on Instagram and Facebook can also be locked if both take action against his controversial post.
About a week ago, NCPCR had sent a notification to Twitter and Delhi police to take action against the handle of Rahul Gandhi and remove the tweet.
Next, Twitter locked Twitter Rahul Gandhi and deleted “unpleasant” tweets.
Twitter action has created a storm in Indian politics.
The controversy began after Rahul Gandhi on August 4, visited the nine-year-old Delhi Dialit girl who was suspected of being raped and killed this month.
He then posted several photos of the victim’s family on Twitter.
BJP complained to NCPCR and police Delhi accused that Rahul Gandhi had acted against the law and revealed the identity of the victim by posting photos of his family members.
In its part, NCPCR sent a notification to Twitter and Delhi police after receiving complaints from the positive movement of the Dalit NGO.
Twitter locked the handle of Rahul Gandhi on August 7.
Congress leaders objected to the actions that accused the National Commission on Scheduled Castu (NCSC) and its members Anju Bala had posted photos of the victims’ family of one and two days before Rahul Gandhi did the same thing but there was no action taken against them.
When asked, Chairman NCPCR Kanoongo said Rahul Gandhi deliberately posted the pictures and that they revealed the identity of the victim while there was no violation by NCSC or its members.
He said NCPCR had a mandate to monitor and protect the rights of children under the provisions of the Pocso Law and the Justice of the Youth (Child care and protection).
Notifications for Twitter, Instagram and Facebook have been issued under this law.
Meanwhile, protesting the actions of Twitter, several Congress leaders posted photographs of the victim’s family once more.
Twitter on August 12 locked the handle of 23 leaders of Congress and seven parties.
