WASHINGTON: US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Friday he will hold a virtual meeting of foreign ministers from all over the world to discuss the Pandemic Covid-19 next week, promised to overcome global inequality in access to vaccines.
“Even though there is progress in vaccination throughout the world, we are not where we need,” Blinken said in a statement that announced a meeting on November 10.
It followed the peak of the world leader of President Joe Biden who swore on September 22, when he promised to buy 500 million doses of more covid-19 vaccines to be donated to other countries.
The United States, where people offered a booster vaccine shot ahead of winter, has been under pressure to share more supplies of vaccines with all over the world.
“We will discuss efforts to accelerate in the direction of equity and the impact of vaccines,” said Blinken about the Minister of Foreign Affairs summit.
