‘We will act even if you delay’: Indian teenager in COP26

New Delhi: Vinisha Umashankar is fifteen years old, one of the finalists of Prince William’s Gift Earthshot, delivered a strong speech at the COP26 climate change conference in Glasgow on climate change.
He urged all the world leaders, business leaders, international organizations and civil society – to immediately “stop talking and start acting” when it comes to dealing with climate change.
During a 5-minute long speech, he told the world that his generation was “angry and frustrated at leaders who had made empty appointments and failed to give”.
“We have every reason to be angry but I don’t have time to be angry.
I want to act.
I’m not just a girl from India, I am a girl from the earth and I am proud to be so,” he said.
Calling himself a optimistic, vinisha – who came from Tamil Nadu – invited world leaders, international organizations, civil society, and business leaders to stand with generations and re-innovations, solutions and projects working to repair the planet and join the next generation take action.
Vinisha said it for a new future, we needed a new vision and urged everyone to stop thinking about the old debate.
“We have to stop thinking about the old debate because we need a new vision for a new future.
So you need to invest your time, money, and your efforts within us to shape our future,” he said.
“We, winners and Earthshot prize finalists, choose until the end of this decade protect and restore our nature, clean our air, revive our oceans, build a world-free waste and improve our climate.

We lead a large wave of humanitarian innovation that has been known, “said Vinisha while urging everyone to stand with the winner and earthshot prize finalist.
However, he mentioned that even if leaders did not join Vinisha and Co-finalists and winners, they would continue to lead.
“We will lead even if you don’t.
We will act even if you delay and we will build the future even if you are still trapped in the past,” said the teenager while asking all gifts to accept the invitation and convince him.
No one will regret doing it.
Training his speech, he said, “When it comes to climate change, there is no stop button.
We can’t hit the pause or even retreat.
We can only move together towards the future so we will succeed”.
Vinisha is part of the “acceleration of innovation and the spread of clean technology”, attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi just before he went to New Delhi on Tuesday night.
