Bengaluru: Anticipating Tight Competition at Asian Games this year, Indian men’s Hockey team Manpreet Singh said the Pro Fih League would be the perfect platform to try a new combination for a large ticket event in Hangzhou.
Manpreet has led India to their first Olympic medal in 41 years in Tokyo, where the team won historic bronze.
“Asian Games will no doubt be the biggest event for us this year.
Of course the competition will be quite resilient at the Asian Games because all the teams will compete to make Olympics Cut (by winning gold),” he said.
The gold medal winner in the Asian Games, starting September 10, automatically qualified for the Olympics.
India won bronze in the game Jakarta in 2018.
Pro Fih League matches began in February and India will play people like Spain, Germany, Argentina and England in Bhubaneswar.
“This year will be quite interesting with a back-to-back tournament throughout the year.
We started with FIH league matches in February.
After almost two years, we will return to our favorite places in Bhubaneswar where we will play double.
