Weapon case: CBI searches in 40 locations in J & K, Delhi

Srinagar / New Delhi: CBI on Saturday began searching at 40 locations in Jammu and Kashmir, and in the national capital in connection with cases related to alleged irregularities in issuing thousands of weapons licenses to non-residents on false documents, officials said.
Search operations scattered in Jammu, Srinagar, Udhampur, Rajouri, Anantnag, Baramulla and Delhi in the official premise and housing of public servants, including officers of IAS, around 20 weapons houses include investigating cases related to racket licenses, said CBI spokesman said A statement.
Premissises at least two officers IAS – Shahid Iqbal Choudhary and Ninsij Kumar – are dipped, officials said.
The CBI in December 2019 conducted a search in more than a dozen locations in Srinagar, Jammu, Gurgaon and Noida in the Collector and Magistrat Kupwara, Baramulla, Udhampur, Kishtwar, Doda, Pulwama, and Pulwama, and several other places.
The search was conducted in connection with the probe into two cases related to the alleged issuance of around two lacti’s arm licenses from different districts of the state of Jammu and their Kashmir by their collectors and judges.
It is suspected that the weapons license was issued as a substitute for illegal satisfaction.
It is suspected that then civil servants in Cahoots with other charges of issuing weapons licenses to non-residents who violate the rules and receive illegal satisfaction.
Rajasthan ATS has dug the scandal in 2017 and has arrested more than 50 people because of their alleged involvement in the issuance of illegal weapons licenses.
According to ATS, more than 3,000 permits were given allegedly in the name of the army personnel.
Based on the findings of ATS, the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir N Vohra have submitted this problem to the CBI.
