Weekends, holes produce snarls at Enter Express Highway

Thane: Thousands of motorists from Thane and Mumbai who came out to enjoy an extended weekend getaway detained on a massive traffic lane on the Bound Nashik line from the East Express Highway on Saturday morning, officials said.
Police said the traffic movement was higher because of an extended vacation.
This movement slowed because of a hole that appeared on the artery highway following heavy rain in the area since Friday night.
It can be noted that the authorities have filled the holes recently but the same thing was washed on rain for the past few days.
Convoy of Guardian Minister Ekanth Shinde is also influenced by traffic.
A driver making fun of congestion complains to take almost 30 minutes to cross from the intersection of gold dyes to Kharegaon, something that usually does not take more than five minutes.
Balasaheb Patil, deputy commissioner of the police, Thane traffic, confirmed congestion and said the recurrence of a hole had affected the traffic movement on the highway.
“We have mobilized nearly 50 staff at an important intersection between Kopri in Thane to Kongona Junction in Kalyan on the highway to streamline the traffic movement and believe it will immediately clear the traffic jam,” he told Ti.
