Weighing 25kg 2 years old undergoing bariatric surgery

New Delhi: A two-year-old girl who weighed nearly 45 kg underwent a weight loss surgery at a private hospital in Delhi recently.
The operation involves eliminating parts of his stomach using minimal invasive techniques.
A two-year-old child has a normal growth milestone weighs between 12 and 15 kg, the doctor said.
They added that a two-year-old girl, the daughter of a rental accountant from Delhi Timur, burdened three times and despite a series of tests, including complete genetic testing, they did not know why.
Dr.
Memrete Sethi, consultant, child endocrinology at Max Patpariganj, said his parents and their brothers were not overweight.
“His older brother, who was eight years old, had a normal growth milestone for his age,” he added.
Khyati, the child, also weighed normally at birth and weighed 2.5 kg, the doctor said.
However, he began to gain weight quickly as soon as it was born and weighed 14 kg in six months.
His parents consulted many doctors but didn’t work.
At the age of one year and six months, the girl became a wheelchair bound and developed a sleep disorder because of being overweight.
“The operation has never been a preferred choice to lose weight in small children.
But in this case, it is necessary to save the life of a child,” Dr.
Vivek Bindal, Head of the Minimum Max Institute of Access, Bariatric & Robotic Surgery, said.
The bariatric operating procedure where the surgeon removes parts of the stomach gives a full feeling to the patient and reduces their hunger, causing a weight loss and significant health improvement.
This is due to the fact that new stomach bags accommodate smaller volumes than normal stomach and reduce the amount of food intake.
Dr.
Bindal said that a literary literary illness or technical video weight loss operation in small children is a challenge because it is also the fact that the stapler and instrument are designed for adults.
“The stomach cavity in a two-year-old child is very small, regardless of his weight.
Added to this, the volume of blood in children is very small, and so does the loss of blood is permitted,” he added.
Talking about another challenge facing the team, Dr.
Arun Puri, senior director and head of the pain and anesthetic management department, said it was a big challenge to manage anesthesia during the procedure.
“To help find children’s blood vessels under the layer of fat, manage bleeding and caring for postoperative procedures and ventilation requires extraordinary details before surgery.
The operation runs well and the child comes out of anesthesia, smoothly.
There are no previous guidelines about sort of operation This is because this is a very rare case.
In some other cases and known, such obesity has been proven to be fatal for children, “he said.
After surgery, Khyati has been wearing a special diet to gradually reduce her weight while maintaining child nutritional requirements.
He is expected to lose weight over the next year and grow as a normal adult.
He will be closely monitored by the clinical team.
He also underwent rehabilitation to help him build strength in his body so he could start walking.
