Weightlifter Mirabai Chanu left for the Tokyo Olympics

St.
Louis: Ace Indian Weightlifter Saikhom Mirabai Chanu has left for Tokyo 2020, which is scheduled to begin on July 23, after completing a little preparation here at St.
Louis, United States.
Mirabai underwent a 50-day training in the United States, under the supervision of the Vijay Sharma National coach and assistant coach Sandip Kumar, who was approved by the Target Olympic Podium Scheme (Puncak), according to Olympics.com.
49 kg weightliftings will be accompanied by Sharma, Kumar, and Pramod Sharma coach along with Javadekar Aalaap Physiotherapist for the Mega event.
This is the second task in the US after undergoing a two-month task under the strength coach and conditioning, Dr.
Aaron Horschig, last year.
Back problems and lower shoulders are handled during the previous task.
The Tokyo Olympics will be Chanu’s second appearance on a big stage because he previously qualified for the 2016 Rio Olympics in the 48 kg of women.
However, he failed to finish the event because he failed to lift the weight in his three efforts in the Clean & Jerk.
However, in 2017, he was able to redeem himself when he won a gold medal in the 48 kg category of women by raising a 194 kg competition record (85 kg of snatch and 109 kg clean & jerk) in the 2017 world weightlifting championship held in Anaheim, CA , United States of America.
He then won gold in the 2018 Commonwealth game and Bronze in Clean and Jerk in category 49 kg in the 2019 Asian lift championship.
Mirabai will now expect to bury past ghosts at the current exhibition by lifting the bar higher.
