Malda: A 20-year-old man has been arrested and four country-made weapons have been confiscated from his ownership in the district of Malda Bengal Barat, police said on Sunday.
Acting on the tip-off, the police arrested a Sheikh Royel, a manikchak resident in this district, and seized firearms from his ownership at Bridge Chandipur in the District Police Station in Saturday night, said an officer.
The defendant had been ordered under part of the Indian criminal code and the ARM Law and he would be produced before the court with the request for police detention, he added.
