Kharagpur: Nine people have been detained because they were questioned in Kharagpur for allegedly binding firecrackers to street dogs and turning it on, resulting in animals that lost their part of their limbs and suffered severe burns on Wednesday night.
The three-year-old animal was saved by the locals.
It has been operated and is now out of danger.
Dogs are being treated by an animal rights organization.
The incident was reported from the Kharida Gurdwara area in Kharagpur City.
Street claw members, organizations who treated the dog, said they heard a dog who was injured lying on the road.
“We rushed to the area and saw him lying on the sidewalk with burns.
We arranged for his maintenance and, with the advice of veteran doctors, received surgery made,” said Jot Singh, members of the organization.
Additional supervisors of police (Kharagpur) Rana Mukherjee said a complaint was submitted.
“Nothing mentioned in complaints and we have begun investigated.
Nine people have been detained because they are questioned,” said Mukherjee.
