Kolkata: In a unique initiative, Head of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee launched a student ‘credit card’ scheme on Wednesday.
“I am pleased to announce that the West Bengal government has launched a student credit card today.
To make a Mandiri Bengal Youth, this scheme must provide a loan of up to 10 lakh with a simple annual interest,” Banerjee said.
This scheme includes education from the Madhyamic level to professional courses including doctoral / post-doctoral research work in educational institutions recognized in or abroad.

This will not only be extended to students who succeed in to the inaugural institution but the loan will be available to provide support to students who want to prepare for the employment of the state and state government such as UPSC and PSC.
Educational loans must also be expanded for students who study in various competitive training institutions to appear in IITS / IMS / NLUS / IAS / IPS / WBCS or other competitive exams.
This will include a variety of institutional / non-institutional costs to ensure that there are no students from the West Bengal state deprived of education due to lack of funding.
The West Bengal government has taken several initiatives.
To ensure the growth manifold of the education sector in the state.
